Nostalgia at its finest. The 360 has given me many great memories over the years. My first online play console and introduced me to one of my best friends, Cameron and his fiancée, Kristin. I've met many others online. Some I still keep in contact with a bit, others I still sometimes wonder "what ever happened to..."?
But the games were great too, it introduced me to Halo! That is an experience I'll never forget and thanks to the Master Chief Collection, I get to keep reliving. But I met others like Alan Wake, Commander Shepherd, and Marcus Fenix. Some I related to, others are more acquaintances.
I may sound silly but when you put hours into a game, just like a good book, those characters come alive, you know them, you feel their pain, happiness, sadness, and elation. In some instances you ARE them. Games let you live vicarious lives in fantasy worlds where you're not a passive observer but you experience these places. That's the power games have. While I love books, and movies/TV, games are the biggest escape. A shout out to that lucky number 7th generation. Thank you to the 360 for powering the play.
Here's a short tribute song/video to the seventh generation from one of my favorite YouTube artists, JT Machinima.
